Coming Soon!
After three years of driving rideshare and completing over 15,000 trips, I've learned Uber and Lyft are steadily growing more unstable. Each of them are increasing prices while simultaneously cutting driver pay. So, I've decided to form the Pittsburgh Poet Taxi Company LLC. This new company will provide reliable and affordable taxi services for our Pittsburgh neighbors.

We are currently going through the regulatory process to guarantee the company will offer the following:
The new company should be launched by this spring or summer. In the meantime, please share this webpage with friends, coworkers, and family members, who you believe will benefit from having a new option in transportation.
Some FAQs:
Will you have an app? - Nope. We're too small for apps. Instead, we'll have a website with a booking calendar that will allow you to reserve a guaranteed time slot. We'll let you know once it goes live.
Can I call for a ride? - Maybe. The booking calendar will be served first. If there's an immediate opening, we could do a fast trip. But the bookings come first, always.
How do I know you'll honor bookings? - The booking calendar is our bread and butter. While other taxi and rideshare companies don't compel drivers to perform scheduled trips, we absolutely make sure of it. We've built a logistics system that ensures the driver (Ron) has the scheduled padding to drop off a client and then get to the next one on time, no matter the weather conditions.
What's the price per trip? - We don't have set prices. Taxis in Pittsburgh have meters, the prices on which are regulated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. However, there will never be a surge price (unlike rideshare) and your fares support a local small business.
Will you take me to the airport? - Yes! If you book a trip for the airport, you'll be in good hands. However, we won't pick up from the airport. That's outside our pickup service area.
What's your pickup service area? - We're still figuring that out. We'll definitely serve the golden triangle (Point State Park to Regent Square). We might also add on the East suburbs (Wilkinsburg to Monroeville) as a secondary market. The trick is to ensure Ron can complete a trip in one area and then have time to get to the next client for their appointment.
How many drivers will you have? - Just Ron for now. The goal is to ensure the calendar is regularly filled. Once we have enough demand to hire another driver, we'll then make the investment to buy another car, taxi equipment, insurance, etc.
More questions can be submitted through the company's website once it's launched. Until then, keep an eye out for our newsletters with progress reports and future discounts.
